Late, but discovered JYD II

somehow I missed the JYDII. I saw the JYD and did not like all metal knives much, so dismissed them. Then discovered they made a larger G10 one. This is a not too heavy "big" knife. I don't carry large ones as much as I do the smaller ones, but it's a keeper. I like the gray G10 (tired of black). I have gotten used to "flicking" it open. The nice high, flat grind makes it a good slicer. The blade shape is very likeable. I haven't sharpened it yet, but I don't think it will be a problem.

What was a problem was the tip down only carry, plus I just could not handle the clip shape. No problem, when you have titanium, simple tools, and about thirty minutes. Polished the edges too.

Ya know, that's the only two things that have kept me form getting one...Hey gull wing, wanna do another? :D

Nice job on the clip!

I have a question though, is the G-10 holding those screws in, or did you find some other way to secure the clip? I have an extra ZT pocket clip I'd like to put on, but the skeletonized liner prevents me from putting it where I would like to.

It's certainly one of the best folders to come out this year IMO. The only problem I had with it is the flipper being a bit on the short side for my clumsy hand. It takes more concentration than I'd like to open it. A bit longer would have suited me but I still love this knife. As been stated here before it's one of two sharpest knives I've bought right out ofthe box. Joe.

Mastiff,
If I hold knife down (P Pin down) it much easier(gravity).

k s,
I recessed and glued a .050" bit of metal in the G10 then drilled and tapped.
I think the liner is hardened, may be a bit dificult to tap??
