I got to hike in various places from Alberta to BC on a 3 day trip i took and managed to get some really cool pictures. I find people in the W&SS forum appreciate pictures of the outdoors more than other sub forums..so here goes..

A big buck mule deer and doe..he was a ways off and the pic isnt the greatest but he was a big boy for sure..

The forest i was hiking in..evidently full of premium fatwood..
IMG_9354.jpg

This piece of fatwood was huge..i didnt realize there was another 3 feet of it underground until i dug it up..ESEE 3 and JUNGLAS

The junglas sitting on the huge piece of fatwood..it measured out to 7 ft 3"...totally overkill, but i have alot of hunting and hiking buddies that love this stuff and dont have time to get out, so i dragged it back to the truck and took it home for em..

ESEE 3 and the top of the fatwood chunk.

Junglas on the forest floor..

A crystal clear stream coming right out of the mountains

I found this fresh cut block while i was out and was somewhat depressed when i saw it..oh well. opens up the country a bit i guess..it used to be a really nice spot.

two years ago i went hiking 1.5 or so KM up one of the rivers in BC and had a beer at one of the most awesome spots I found, i then pounded the bottle cap into this tree with my SOG seal pup elite..i was pleased to see it was still there!!

An awesome shelter i built a couple weeks ago..
IMG00027.jpg

Lunch, bannock in the fire and pine needle/labrador tea boiling away in the fire..
IMG00025.jpg

I found a clump of spruce that had blown over, leaving roots and moss in a perfect lean to! So i added some frame work, lots of small sticks and loads of spruce bows and then few layers of moss on top, waterproof, warm and enough room for me to be totally covered stretched out inside the shelter..it had a nice little staging area too for gear and whatnot, or you could bring your fire in closer if it was very cold out.

The fatwood i got is PREMIUM all the way through

Thanks, great for me to see some wintry type stuff. Not much of that out here in the middle of the Pacific.

awesome pics. that was a nice fatwood score. also nice find on the shelter. probably didn't require much work to be a nice little spot in the winter
