My phone tends to ring at all hours. Last night prompted me to make this post. I got calls from Nepal, France, the UK, Florida, Maryland -- all of which went unanswered because they came between midnight and 7 AM.

Before the surgery I would answer these calls no matter what time they might arrive. Now, I shut the phone down at bedtime and turn it on when I get up.

So, if you want to talk to a human try calling between about 8AM and 8PM Reno time, otherwise you'll have to talk with a machine.

Thanks for reading.

Uncle Bill,
To encourage your chronologically challenged khukaholic callers to observe a little common courtesy/sense, here's a world time zone map

And thanks, Berk, but it doesn't seem to do any good. Turning off the ringer is the only sure solution. The only thing I dislike about it is I sometimes forget to turn it back on again.

Khukuri FAQ

Bill, i don't know how your computer is set up, but maybe you could switch your phone line (or your internet line, or whatever you have) into a fax receiving mode at night? That way khukriphiles from all over can just fax you their requests, you get an instant "hard" copy, and perhaps a good night's sleep as well?

Bill,
My Hewlett Packard is a Printer, Fax, copier and scanner. Works pretty good too.
