Ok, I'm sittn here, wishing I could afford some Talonite. And I come up with this. What if..... I melted down some bronze, added in some silicone carbide and cast a blade. What would I have? A big freakin mess or something that might work? I'm not expecting it to work like talonite. But would it at least cut? I know Ed Fowler has bronzed some of his blades, but those were bronze on steel. Can just a bronze blade be hardened? or brass?
Thanks for any input.:)

At one time bronze was quite commonplace as far as blades were concerned. Then iron was discovered and a whole new era began. Hossom and Mayo were around back then. Check the archives for "Shop Talk" to see when all this took place.

(Sorry, just couldn't resist!) :)

Actually, it would be a very interesting project.
