I just got a jyd 2.2 composite from Dave. I am still on the fence about the clip. The least I can say is the clip folds into my fingers very well. The rest of the knife - WOW!
I am already looking for another one (hope Dave is not out). Fit and finish are great - especially considering it is a blem. It fits in the hand perfectly, and I can't stress enough the great ergos. I bought this to replace my Needs Work - and I am now very glad I lost it.

One question - I don't see a stop pin. It looks like the liner lock acts as both a lock and a stop pin. Is this correct? Any thoughts on long-term wear and blade play with this design - good/bad/no effect? Seems like a clever idea.

Get one while you can!
And - if Kershawguy still has them - I can't say enough good things about how quick and smooth he makes everything.

I carried and used mine for a while, then my brother wanted it. He has used it for a year or so and no blade play. I loosened the pivot a touch and it flies open now. Its a great knife.

I am not positive, but I believe the jyd has an internal stop pin.

It is never to late to the party if you can find it. The Ti JYD party is hard to find but what a party that is if you like the regular JYD.

I'm not a fan of the clip. It is a nice clip and works great but doesn't quite fit in with the G10 and more subtle design.
It looks phenomenal on the Tim Galyean custom though.

I like the size and shape and for a time carried a Ti version I swapped a composite blade in to. It is a large knife without being huge. It carries very well. I have a 0560 I carry all the time now. It is large and carries a bit large size wise, especially since the deep carry clip buries it to the end of pockets, but doesn't carry heavy for the size.

I love my 0560 but your post has me considering carrying other Kershaws again! I think I'm missing out on enjoying some of the other great knives I own/are out there. Thanks for your post and showing me the light!

My edc is a JYDSG2 ive tried carrying the 0550 and 0560 and always end up going back to the dog its a great knife

At least you are in the right place to remedy this problem. Just in the nick of time!
Good camping.

Sweet let me get the pics out, and tell my story again.

When I was young I would lose my knifes all the time. Always had something cheap. I searched the web looking at knifes I found the jyd2 cb on line. Like mos knifes it just caught my eye and I bought it. I believe I paid like 80 or 90 dollars. I carried that knife everyday for about 3 and a half years. Great ergos and the d2 stays sharp for soo long. Then one day I was like heck I havent lost this knife Im going to buy something nice and expensive. Thats when I found BFC.....

Still have the old JYD, its super smooth now, locks up great the only thing different than new is the g10 is a lot smoother then it used to be. It is retired though because I carry zts now. I use the TiSG2 as a gentelmens knife with no clip, its so freeking sharp.

I accidentally broke the clip of my JYD trying to mod it, since it is so big. I ought to order a replacement... My wife really likes that knife because of the puzzle piece composite seam.

I sent one to Brad Southard and he IKBS'd it and put a nice titanium lowrider clip on it. The smoothest knife ever!

I'd love to see the production JYD offered with the IKBS that's a standard fare with the Tim Galyean customs. All in All I love the JYD and its large, but not overbuilt blade profile, for such a large knife it isn't a nuisance to carry and is quite a capable slicer.
