Hey all!

Here's a stupid question that one of you must have an answer to.

Most of us are familiar with the Schrade Cutlery Co. catalog, original and reprinted by AG Russell. Some of us own copies of it, etc.

I am interested in finding a more recent reference for open stock patterns. Maybe something for Schrade Walden and newer. I have seen some of the open stock knives listed in the short line pages that are are more recent, but these pages are primarily for the OT and UH products. So I am looking for a more lengthy product offering.

Any thing like this out there???

Thanks,
Glenn

A few copies of the earlier "catalogs" exist, but they are quite rare. And they are not "catalogs" in the strictest sense, more like the later "shortlines", so the line drawings are not of very good quality. The open stock knives were descended from the knives you see in the 1926-1938 "Catalog E & Suppliments" reprint. I have no idea of how many of this volume were actually printed, but the supply is limited. If any of you do not yet have a copy, considering the number of collectors turning their attention to Schrades, you should pick up a copy as you can. It is an excellent reference book. Quite often, the knives we think of as open stock are shown there, albeit with longer numbers (which are far more descriptive of the construction) along with the key for decoding the numbers.

I have a copy that might be available if anyone might wish one.
