Hi, I'm pretty new here, but I'm a die hard Spydie-fan. I recieved my first ever Dragonfly(FRN) today, actually two of them. One has a lot of side to side play in the blade. I can actually see daylight b/n the blade and each side of the handle. Is there a way to tighten down these metal pin thingies :p or is this just a lemon? The other one is tight just like all my other Spydercos, but it is going to my father in law tomorrow...

Thanks.

just lay it on it's side, on something solid like a vise and tap the pin LIGHTLY, LIGHTLY and check action. still loose, tap pin LIGHTLY and check action. still loose,............

I've owned about 10 Dragonfly's and have either given them away as gifts to a non knife knut or sold them. I would say that horizontal play is pretty common in the Dragonfly series and I'm not sure why. You could try to tap the rivet as mentioned or send it back to Spyderco for a fix. Personally, it didn't really bother me as much as would if it was happening to my Strider or Sebenza.

When I bought my SS Dragonfly there was some bladeplay( I hate even a fraction of it) Eventhough it was SS, I could clearly see the pivot pin. I tapped it a few times with a hammer and the bladeplay was gone. The motion got a little stiffer though. However, I like a stiff knife ( especially over blade play)
