Here's a hunter I'm finishing up. Its the first knife I ground on my new grinder, first time I've used maple for scales, and first time I've done bolsters in a few years.
Specs:
Blade: 1/8" O1 , 3-3/4" long. Hollow ground on a 10" wheel.
Scales: Curly Maple, considered "good" grade where I bought it. (I got 6 board feet of it an it all looks like this :D ) Finished with 3 coats of danish oil.
Bolsters are brass and dovetailed
Pins are brass, and so is the thong hole.
No sheath yet, I'm not putting kydex on this
The filework is a modification of the vine pattern I've been doing. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and the change only added 10-15 minutes.

EDIT: I really wish you could see this part better. The vine sprouts from the middle of the handle and runs in two directions. The middle was a bitch to figure out, but I really like it now that its done.

Well Matt I'd say you adjusted rather well to the new grinder! I really like that, maybe it's my favorite of your knives so far. Dovetailed bolsters are a bitch, and it looks to me like you made it easy. The filework is sweet, but I'd sure like to see what you're talking about with it growing from a center. I can't picture how I'd do that and would like to see your solution. Way to go, and I trust this is just the first of a flurry of work now that you have it made in the shade with the new machine. The handle is very nice with all the curves and I like that you put your mark underneath. Very cool all around!

Maybe these will show it a little bit better. The scanner just doesn't want to pick that section of the handle up :grumpy:

Edited to add, thanks for the kind words Dave. Glad you like the knife :)

If we can't get the filework pic figured out, maybe I can draw a picture.

Great job on that one Matt ;) Looks like you adapted to your new grinder right quick. Filework looks very nice and the bolsters look great for fit and finish. very nice all around.

Thanks alot guys :D
This one got a little frustrating at times, but was a pretty fun peice to make. I did a few things out of order and made things a little more difficult than they should have been. Live and learn :)
