Latest "ASH1" arrival...

...just arrived in the mail this week... :D :D It was purchased from another of the great Aussie Busse fans who knew of my ASH re-homing service... ;)

This is a tough knife to photograph and I don't think I have done it justice, I mostly work outside with natural light and am more comfortable with that but I didn't think that world work as well for this one, I guess this pic lets you see what I am talking about though...



...I bought it as a user and there are some sheathing marks down that blade that will polish out, the light needs to be right to find them.

What is interesting is that it arrived and I was looking at it on the bench and kept thinking it is reallly nice but looks off...not wrong but not 100% ASH. And I was right, I *think*, and Garth may like to chime in :), that it was made on a "3B2" blank as that is what it is almost 100% to (the choil area is a notable difference !!). Hell if I know....but it is sweet......!!!!!!

I am not sure, as CS and "exotic" handles are foreign to me, this is "G-Rex" or am I wrong ???
 
Nice ASH, I was thinking 3B2 as well, at first glance.

SCORE......That is a Magnificent specimen of workmanship 3B2 G-Rexed....WOW!!!!

Very nice scores !! That is one hell of a user ! like walking into the woods wearing a tuxedo, that knife is a beauty. I like those LE's too ! I have a BATAC LE great knife but it's a safe queen. The SJTAC LE looks like a really smooth clean razor sharp knife :thumbup::) I may have to eventually search for one in satin :D

Andy, yes it does appear to be a G-rexed handle, with white liners over the black G-10 and under the wood. :thumbup: Also looks like a 3B2 profile to me, nice score. :)

.... thanks all !!!!!! Yes I am pretty happy with these three. The local I got them from was one of the best people I have dealt with as well. Make things that much easier...!! The ASH/3B2 is certainly unique...!! So much so my plan for having it re-handled and coated are probably on hold... :D
