Latest Batch of wood

First Pic is; cocobolo on the left, this latest batch (sanded down bare with mineral oi) and far right is satisal.

Second pic is a close up of the new wood just mineral oil. Good looking stuff what ever it is:thumbup:
This Bahadur Knife is about to get used then it has a play date on a hike with me tomorrow to go get some Osage Orange walking sicks. I'll post a review later on in the week.

It is attractive, whatever it is. As I saw the current blades hit the street, I really got excited about how my M43 would turn out. I'm pretty sure it's satisal, since it looks like satisal, just what I consider a nice specimen. I really haven't been around long enough to know for sure, but some of the new "satisal" does look different from my M43 and Bilton. As you said, it looks good whatever it is. Take care.

I hope this stuff is still around when I am able to buy again. It is superb looking wood.

Here are some photos of my satisal M43 from this last batch. It's hard to get the wood sprites to dance in the sunlight without getting a little glare.

It holds up pretty well but the snap on the sheath is leaving impressions on the wood. I may have to replace it with a better snap.
jdk1, the fit between the handle scales and the tang on these recent blades is much better than it has been. The scales are matching the taper of the tangs instead of using laha to fill the gaps. Judging by the spine shot on yours they did better in less time than I did with better tools and all the time in the world.
I wonder what the import grief would be for Yangdu if I asked her to bring in a few blocks of neem and dahar for me? And I really have to add my review of the Bahadur knife to GregS's I beat the snot out of mine today woods bumming and absolutely love it.
