Here is my latest bowie. The blade is forged O1 steel 1/4" X 9" with a distal taper. The tang is threaded to the buttcap. The fittings are as follows: textured brass spacer, polished 5160 guard, recessed aluminum spacer, 5160 spacer, recessed aluminum spacer, 5160 spacer, red spacer, European stag handle, red spacer, threade 5160 buttcap. Keeping all of the handle fittings lined up during assembly proved to be very difficult!!! Any tips on assembiling these for future reference?

I've never tried to do any spacers before, but it seems like you could drill corresponding holes through each peice that a blind pin fits into. It would slide in in the same direction as the tang does and would not show because of the handle and the gaurd.Just a thought. Great Work.

That's a gorgeous knife! :)

It looks as though you managed to get them lined up very well!

What I do on hidden tangs where the spacers are fileworked and such...is super-glue the pieces together in blocks. Then I drill for a tiny reference pin to slide through. That way you can assemble the handle, shape it, and then dissassemble it to add the extra touches and still get that smooth fit up later on when you reassemble it.

Keep em coming! :)

Beautiful piece. Multi-piece handles define a level of achievement.

Nick Wheeler's suggestion about the super glue may have the additional benefit of creating an electrical barrier between the various metals you have in the guard if it coats the whole face. Multilple metals can be a problem with galvanic corrosion years down the road, especially with any moisture around. You might want to keep the handle oiled as well as the blade, and coat that pretty textured brass piece with some clear nail polish.

Pretty knife; be proud!

Nice blade!
I wouldn't change anything except the fitting material to 416 stainless. It is easy to work with and looks great when finished.
Nice overall blade
