Just finished this one.It is for a martial arts teacher in the south west.
Specs: Blade - 52100,diferential temper,edge quench,blued
Guard - 1095,forged,trap door breech,blued
Handle - African blackwood, fitted to hand
File work - Vine and thorns
Funny looking wood thing - assembly/disassembly tool

Cool! Are those neoprene spacers?
That has got to be the niftiest way to attach a handle that I've seen yet :)

Spacers are leather. They compress just enough to allow the latch pin to tighten the whole thing rock solid.Photos are not very good,I'll take a better one in daylight.I dreamed up the "trap door breech" in sketching a bowie design once.It not only allows disassembly for maintenance/sharpening,etc.,it allows you to change handles. For those who don't do it- drawing out a knife (usually many times, with many changes) is the best way to start.I keep sketch pads all over the house (and in the car) for when an idea hits me.I'll post a design tutorial.
