Just some quick fresh off the work bench pic's of my last project.

Blade; 9 inch 440C, flat ground hand rubbed 1500 grit satin finish with file worked spine
Handle;Sambar Stag, outer layer has been ground off then dyed and polished
Fittings; File worked wrought iron
Over all length; 14 inches
and it's a take down.

This pic is just for fun to show how far it is between a pile of crap to the finished project. This is all the material I used for this project

Bob,

You are one talented guy. I love your variety, and the flourishes you add to your pieces.

I have a couple of similar pieces I just acquired, which you would find appealing and inspirational as well, from retired maker Hill Pearce. I'll shoot and show them soon.

In the meanwhile props to YOU. :)

Wow. Love it. Great sheath as well.

For some reason, I really like the flat head on the nut for take down.

I see a lot of custom take downs that use lathed and drilled pieces with small holes to insert a tool (usually a matching machined piece).

For some reason the appeal of a simple, well smoothed, unobtrusive flat head makes me happy. Not like I would ever need to tighten it with a penny, but darn it, I could in an emergency (don't ask what kind of emergency would require using a coin etc, on such a nice knife!).
