My latest pull. I have no idea what the pattern, or maker is. Someone tried to polish it but it was on the stamp. There a bit of it left. Will a vinegar bath bring it out any? Any idea as to what it is?

Don't know what the stamp said (Council Tool Company maybe?), but that looks to be a Hudson's Bay pattern head.

I might bank on Collins. It looks like an N at the end of it. Might be their Conn. marking. I don't think it's a Hudson Bay pattern, I hanged it today (I had an old double bit haft that was a tad messed up) that with some rasping, fit like a glove. The eye runs right up to where the blade drops though, which is making me think it isn't a hudson bay.

I have no complaints towards the axe itself, although from pictures I've looked at, it doesn't follow their "typical" Hudson bay pattern. The head is also heavy, about 3.5 pounds, I did a small workout with it today and it chops and splits very well. For 20 dollars I cant complain.
Excuse the crappy hanging right now, I'm using what I can find in the Garage until the maple I recently chopped down cures.
