There's actually two electrician's knives in there...one is a Proto 3 blade with a hawkbill, and the other is the Camco 229 (TL-29). Both are well used, but serviceable with plenty of life left in them. A good cleaning is in order for both of them. The one Diamond Edge looks to have never had the protective plastic removed, and has ruined the handle. I tried using WD-40 and a toothbrush to clean it, but the color started coming up. The blades on it are in great shape, so you're correct...it's a great project knife. The other is an Imperial Ireland version. Not sure how well it will be for a project, but we'll see what becomes of it.
The little reddish orange knife is nothing more than a key fob. The blade has never had an edge put on it. From what I've found, there was a series of different animals produced. So far, other than my seahorse, I've located a bear. I read somewhere that there are others, but I'm not sure what they are. I think I'll hang it on the pull chain for the lights in the basement shop, or, as my wife calls it, my real man cave.
My son bought the Victorinox Marlboro Troubleshooter from me, covering the cost of the whole lot...so I've broke even financially, but am way up on the game.
I'd love to find a blade for the little Case 62042 that matches this one...a 4 dot. That makes it a 1976, if I followed the code correctly. That may be a needle in a haystack search, and may just be best to hold it for parts on a future repair, or sell it as a parts knife. When I saw it in the picture the seller posted, I thought I may finally get my first Case to carry. Not going to happen with this one, so the search continues.
The Pak-knives will likely wind up on the auction site with starting bid of $1. They are useless to me.
By all means, use that app. I've found all sorts of things on there. It's where my son got the rims for his truck, and my daughter was able to get a number of items for her apartment. You just have to dig through the garbage to find the good stuff.
