I utilize a phone app that is heavily advertised, where you post items for sale and your phone, using your GPS location, locates items for sale in your area. I've found all sorts of things with that app. Yesterday, while searching for knives, I found a lot of 17 knives, for a very affordable price. I sent a message and waited for the seller to return. I got that return message this morning, and met the young man in a local parking lot, where I bought these. Four of the knives are useless...3 being made in Pakistan, and one being a beat up collector's knife with very little value.

I'm still in the process of cleaning some of them up, but here's a shot of them all together.

Never thought of looking that way. Interesting collection.

I was interested in the lot for one knife, and one knife only...the Case. The photo he shared didn't have a shot with the blades opened...the main blade is roached. However, there's a few others I find interesting...Boker 9215 Hawkbill, 1946-1956 Imperial fishing knife, Interpur Hong Kong Stainless with wood handles, and the Victorinox Troubleshooter with Marlboro cigarette logo. That one knife alone can be sold for 3X what I paid for the lot.

That app, at least in my area, pulls up a lot of China made tacticool knives and such, which means I'm stuck flipping or browsing through tons of stuff I don't want. But, occasionally, you find a good one.

The young man that sold these to me set the price, so I don't feel bad about the price I paid. He told me that his father took off, leaving him all sorts of "garbage" to go through. He said he had more knives, but wasn't able to get to them yet. I gave him my contact information and told him to call me when he finds more. From the way he was talking, there's much, much more than what I bought.

The little green lockback, after a bit of digging information, appears to be a Frost Cutlery Steel Warrior Little Warrior. That's a heck of a name for such a little knife. It's not one that I would seek out, but it feels like a solid little knife.

I see a couple of Diamond Edge shell knives, which are nice for projects, and an electrician knife that looks savable in addition to the ones you already mentioned. I never thought to look there for knives, I am probably too far from a major city but will take a look anyways:)

There's actually two electrician's knives in there...one is a Proto 3 blade with a hawkbill, and the other is the Camco 229 (TL-29). Both are well used, but serviceable with plenty of life left in them. A good cleaning is in order for both of them. The one Diamond Edge looks to have never had the protective plastic removed, and has ruined the handle. I tried using WD-40 and a toothbrush to clean it, but the color started coming up. The blades on it are in great shape, so you're correct...it's a great project knife. The other is an Imperial Ireland version. Not sure how well it will be for a project, but we'll see what becomes of it.

The little reddish orange knife is nothing more than a key fob. The blade has never had an edge put on it. From what I've found, there was a series of different animals produced. So far, other than my seahorse, I've located a bear. I read somewhere that there are others, but I'm not sure what they are. I think I'll hang it on the pull chain for the lights in the basement shop, or, as my wife calls it, my real man cave.

My son bought the Victorinox Marlboro Troubleshooter from me, covering the cost of the whole lot...so I've broke even financially, but am way up on the game.

I'd love to find a blade for the little Case 62042 that matches this one...a 4 dot. That makes it a 1976, if I followed the code correctly. That may be a needle in a haystack search, and may just be best to hold it for parts on a future repair, or sell it as a parts knife. When I saw it in the picture the seller posted, I thought I may finally get my first Case to carry. Not going to happen with this one, so the search continues.

The Pak-knives will likely wind up on the auction site with starting bid of $1. They are useless to me.

By all means, use that app. I've found all sorts of things on there. It's where my son got the rims for his truck, and my daughter was able to get a number of items for her apartment. You just have to dig through the garbage to find the good stuff.

At first I thought I had the exact same Steel warrior lockback, but realized mine is a slightly different model with a typical nail nick. I think it's called the cub . It was a freebie from cutlery corner a few years ago and is a pretty decent little knife.
