latest kitchen knife

this is the latest kitchen knife from my shop. 10 inch blade sg2 steel in suminagashi style, gyoto pattern with musk ox silver and buffalo horn. thanks for looking.

That is sweet Bill I love the steel and the musk ox with the Buffalo go really well together

Gary, Sg2 is a stainless steel from hitachi metals in Japan that is very hard to get outside of japan. I am not sure of the literal translation of suminagashi but my sources tell me that it basically means layered steel that is hammered.
 
Very cool! I'm guessing these things are ground super thin and kept above 60 :)

with the soft cladding I dont have a way to get an accurate hardness but according to the manufactures specs it should be 63 or a little higher.

the cladding is .33 from the edge. at this point the blade is .030 thick.
