This is my adaptation of the Randall 15. I call it my AIRCREW model. I have made this style quite a bit over the last 10 years but this is the 1st that was forged and flat ground.

I presently have this one for sale over on the Knifemaker Fixed Blade for sale forum. Is this a good place to sell your knives? Or is it better to sell on the individuals forums?

What do you all think?

Thanks L6....My website is still in progress...it might be up by next week. My name is Greg Covington and I have been making knives since 1990.

I wasn't sure about where the posting was proper since I only recently upgraded from a basic member.

That's a great looking knife, XRAYED! A real businesslike blade. Looks strong too.

I was sorry to read it, but before the BF changes, I recall reading posts by makers that they had never sold a knife from the forums. I think that was from threads in the For Sale by Maker Forum. I'm sure that displaying knives here has at least generated orders.

Have to admit that since I don't feel myself to be looking for a customized knife now, that I don't look at the for sale forums much. I've come very close to buying from knives posted here. Wanted to very much, but just didn't have the money, or something else was interfering. I hope I'm not at all representative of forumites.

Thanks Bugs.....

That was my concern. In the old forums I seemed to search the For Sale items by individuals more than anything. There might be limited exposure to the knives in the maker's sale items.

Which leads me to wonder what is the best way to sell a knife? I have made them for over 10 years and in that time did shows and a little profile in BLADE led to lots of sales.

I like to make my knives one at a time and not take orders....just sell what I have made and have available. Might not be the best way to do it but it gives me more control over what I create.

My plan is to get my website up and running and sell from there and also here on the forums.....just selling what is available for delivery.

Greg- it seems to me that the For Sale: Maker forum is HOT!!! I've been sorry to miss out on knives that were offered there because they sold in a few minutes. Good luck, I don't think that beauty will last long. :)

X-RAYED, that's a Great Knife! Looks like it's ready to cut parachute lines and build a leanto -- maybe take out a sentry... :D Super, I think that's my favorite of your knives I've seen. Thanks for sharing, please keep em coming.

Dave

Thanks Dave....I have always liked this style of knife. I always wanted to give it a little different look though.

I have kinda planned to have at least two standard models of military type knives....this shorter version and a 7-8" bladed fighter/utility/survival.
