Merry Christmas everyone!

Here’s a knife and sheath that I finished just in time for Christmas, a gift for my Father-in-law. The knife is a ring hilt EDC, with a blade about 3.25 inches long. The steel is CPM 154 CM, heat treated by Paul Bos. The liners are red vulcanized fiber and the scales are Micarta; supposedly mint green, but the red shows through too much and obscures any hint of green. I can’t say I’m thrilled with the combination, but after I cracked two sets of stabilized wood scales, I opted for the Micarta. By the time I realized what the red would do, it was too late to change things. Anyway, here are the pictures:

I was going to say how much I liked the color combination on the handle then I read that you weren't pleased with it. I think it turned out looking great myself. Different than anything else I've seen. I like it a lot.

sometimes its the happy acidents that make the work :) Great job!!!

Thanks guys. I thought the red made the whole handle look kind of pink, but if you guys think it looks okay, I won't worry about it.

I think it looks great. Kind of like a fire in the belly of the knife.

Great knife, i really like the handle, doesn't look "pink" at all, thought never crossed my mind.

Great workmanship

I really like how the handle turned out too! It looks great!! That is a wonderful gift for your F-I-L. I am sure he will love it.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. My Father-in-law seemed quite please with the knife and sheath, so I'll call it a success.

Have a happy and safe New Year!
