I went from IIRC 23 to 11 (not counting mods/customs Reese and DDR owe me) within the last 2 months. Been selling off some "keepers" since my wife got laid off.

For me, the latest ones to leave are:

Super CQC7 with Ti blade by Reese
CQC7b with S30V blade by Reese (made for Lycosa on BF)
Ron Miller & Reese Weiland sterile Florida Black Knife

Large Sebenza 21 w/ladder damacus

Spyderco Sage 2,Gayle Bradley,Damascus Delica & a couple of Delica 4's

Every one had a tiny thing I didn't like about it.Sometimes I wish I wasn't so picky.

I get knives I know i'll never use, then I think, it's just setting there may as well sell it. Then I buy another knife, I'll probably never use. (I'm a bit too practical to use all my knives) Then I think, the same thing all over again.

lol So your current count is 83 and will then -1, but then +2 leaving 84.

I like your style, always plusing :D

I like to go through my NIB Spydercos and "rediscover" ones I've stashed away.
My latest I've pulled out and dusted off is this Chinook. I took the clip off, so it will ride flatter in a belt sheath and I've decided it's a good one to serve as a backup blade, just in case. (like the solid build, blade shape, strong lock, it opens easy for a lock-back, handle is very grippy too) In other words it won't be used unless it's the under the most dire circumstances. Which will admittedly probably never come, but it's so much fun to pick out knives to carry and decide to "keep for good" for my backup sheathed carry.

T-MAG
Orange Millie
Black Millie
Sage 1

Loved every damn one of them, but horse trading is fun!

Scrapper Muk
Busse GW

Used them a few times but really I didnt need them. I have other knives that do the job better so off they went.

I had a Spyderco Citadel 92mm for less than a week...It turned itself into a Cold Steel Rajah 2.:).

Several made their way out of my hands at the Chesapeake knife show, for more steel. A Bradley Alias I and a Gene Ingram hunter with giraffe bone scales. Traded into a Remington R1303, of which I have every intention of carrying, and a couple of Tidioute folders.

The Alias was carried, but I want the R1303 more. The Ingram would never have gotten used because of the beautiful giraffe bone scales. The other interested parties liked them, good deals all around.

The longer I go, the more I'm beginning to feel like Charleton Heston felt about his guns: "From my cold, dead hands...".

I've been telling myself for years, I should sell some. But haven't done it yet. The only knives I used to have, that I don't anymore, were stolen out of my house . Never given up any voluntarily (yet).

I had to let a Sage2 go because I never used it. Loved the knife, just always picked up the Sage1, Caly3cf or Military instead.

I have sold most of my folders, only have around 15 left.

Used to be a fanatic with something like 50'ish spydies but recently have fallen back in love with fixed blades and scandi's in general, cant afford to support obsessively accumulating folders AND fixed blades like crazy so I trimmed the collection. ;)

I guess knife collecting is an evolution, right now I like small fixed blades and next year I might be back into folders..or choppers etc.

The one sale that I regret is selling my blue Dodo. :/ such a sweet lil knife and it went for just over 100$. :( Seeing the prices on ebay is painful.

Oh well, live and learn.

I went from over 80 down to a dozen or so but it's starting to creep up again. What happens to me is I have some knives I say I'll never sell then a knife or knives come out that are must haves and that kills that "never sell" notion altogether and they end up getting sold anyway to make room for the newer stuff.

I'm fickle that way. I've even sold knive that I'm on record of calling one of the best knives made - go figure . . .

Gave it to my Bro-n-law, I figured that plus the Subrosa I bought him for Christmas should account for the BM Goldclass he bought me pictured below.

Just got rid of my CRK Umnumzaan :(

That's why I am rethinking about putting my CRK's up for trade. It was only for other CRK's, but still. I've let some nice Reeves slip through my fingers. The only knives I kept in trade for them were a few woodcraft based custom fixed blades.

Three I'm trying to trade currently:
Bravo 1 (replaced with Ratmandu)
Regulator (will replace with ESEE 5 or BATAC)
BWM (replaced with Basic 11)

In my mind all three have already left the collection.

Recently sold off a Buck Alpha Dorado and Buck Mini Alpha Hunter, both in the MossyOak camo.
Had them for a year or two but was never able to bring myself to put either to use. At that point, they had to go.

I sold all of these on the Exchange fairly recently. Nothing wrong with any of 'em - just moving on to different stuff.
