Chotto-matte is a name suggest by an old samurai movie. The blade is forged high carbon steel 15.75" to the tsuba and 21.5" overall. The blade has been selectively hardened and polished to display a very active hamon. The habaki is carved copper with gold plated seppa and pierced iron tsuba. The fittings on the handle are textured copper. The handle is wenge wood with an over wrap. The tang is signed DFogg April 2006 and the tsuba displays my 24k gold cherry blossom logo.

This piece is in the fashion of a remounted naginata-naoshi-zukuri and functions as a short sword. It comes with display stand.

Pretty awesome!

I about cried when I got the e-mail. I wonder who the lucky person will be to score that one.

Jimmy Fikes posted that Don was working on something shaped sort of like a Jungle Honey, and made from some vintage steel. I'm guessing this is it. Awesome.

yeah - broke my heart too when i saw the email. i was at lunch and didn't see until about 45 minutes after he sent it. was long gone by the time i inquired. just when i think i've seen my favorite he does something even more amazing.

Oh man, what a time to be broke. Who am I kidding, I'm always broke. :) This is one of my favorites so far.

Another great blade by Don Fogg. As usual it was gone by the time I saw the email.
