This is for the son of a friend of mine in Maine. Dad is a lobsterman so this was made with the sea's proximity in mind. First time working with stainless and G10. I had a few embellishments planned but sadly time did not permit. Now it needs a sheath. I'll post pics of the whole thing when it's done.
Do you think he will like it?

Blade length: 5 7/8” OAL: 11”
Grind: Flat
Steel: Stainless CPM154
Handle: G10
Guard: Stainless (304)

Thanks Count.
The more I look at it the more the simplicity is growing on me. But I would still like to have had the time to do a little more.

I like that a lot. Very simple, very utilitarian. Good color for a lobsterman as well. I also like the guard, espicially for work in wet environments where the handle might be slippery. Cool knife.

They're bringing in some really nice King Salmon right here, right now on the docks. And the rockcod season just took off like gangbusters here on the central coast, best in memory - I betcha someone wishes he had that baby for filletin'. Thumbs up for the simplicity comment. I really like this knife. Thanks for showing it. And the color is really cool.

Best,

Bob

I like this piece as well. Very clean, good looking and a nice functional design for purpose.
I particularly like the G10 choice for the handle as it will hold up to the wet conditions that
it will no doubt face and the red color will make it very easy to find as it's laid down among
all the fish, guts and stuff that collects around a cleaning area.

Thanks for the good words guys!
The plan was to have a red spacer in there since the gentleman's lobster buoys are white orange and red. But I recently found out that fiber spacers are really not that stable and can cause all kinds of problems. I'll switch to G10 spacers in the future but did not have time to wait for this one.
