This is my first post in this category. I have been a lurker on Blade Forums for a while but I don't post much. I mostly read and learn.

I picked up a Schatt and Morgan, Corn Bone Handle, Scout Knife today. It is mint, and is listed on the S and M sites at $150. I got it for $65 from a really nice little knife store, Injun Joes, in Dunnellon Fla. today.

I know, you want pictures, but I haven't taken any yet. Just wanted to brag about my good fortune.

Thanks for reading...

Yeah ZSD, show pics please. I like scout knives. Also, how big is Injun Joes? Mostly slipjoints and such? I think I'm going to be in Dunnellon sometime this winter/spring. :)

I got myself a Case 6244, 5 stars (1975 I think?), found in an antique store in so cal. Minor scuffs from sharpening. Oiled it up and carried it for last 3 days. Putting an edge on it tonight. OK, I spent $32, but got tired of bidding wars on ebay for vintage case knifes. This one probably would have gone for a little over 40. I thought it was a great find. I know how it feels, also as they warned me when I did my first post....Hold on to your wallet:), I now have 13 folders.

The Store is in the historic area right off of highway 41. It is not real big, but has a good mixture of knives. Good, salt of the earth people own/operate the place. I hung out and talked knives with the owner and his daughter before making my purchase. This area is right near the Withalacoochee River and is a sportsman's paradise. I rode my motorcycle there from St. Petersburg, it was a great ride with a nice reward at the end.

zensheepdog,

Scout knives are very useful and have a fine history here in the US. I and others would love to see it, but in the meantime what model number S&M(should be etched on the main blade) scout knife did you purchase?

Oh and Welcome to you here in the forum.:)
