I just recently purchased this razor on Ebay for a little under $20, I think I got a good deal but we'll see how well she cleans up. Any metal cleaning product suggestions? I have some free samples of flitz on the way.

Flitz is a non-abrasive, chemical "polish." It removes surface oxidation perfectly, but nothing more. It may not be enough for this task. Many people, by the way, misunderstand Flitz. Put it on fairly thick, rub enough to get it down into the surface texture of the metal and oxidation, let it sit for a minute or two[/], rub it around a bit more to mix it up a bit, let it sit again for a minute or two, then briskly rub it off. Lots o rubbing doesn't do much good with Flitz. Also, Flitz may require several applications to remove layers of oxides. But, Flitz won't damage a surface which is why collectors love it.

as old razors go that's not in bad shape . polishing is up to your perferance, these do'nt have much real high dollar value so polishing wo'nt devalue it. looks like pre 1892 age & has had plenty of use. more of these survived than old pocketknives since razors cost at least a weeks wages & FOLDERS WERE PENNIES IN THOSE DAYS.you may get decent results with "miracle cloth".
