Just finished this guy up for a knife I made for a friend. Still a lot to learn but I'm very happy with how it came out. I tried to incorporate some of the handle material into the sheath as an extra touch. Its not as extensive as some of the great sheaths made by Mr. McKinley but I think it's a good start. :)

As with my knives I am always looking to improve so comments and critiques are more than welcome. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful work.
What material was used for the handle?

Very nice. Great job. I always heistate to stamp across a bend in the leather. Stamping kinds of washes out.. Really like your knife handle and the matching stud. Very cool.

Thank you all!

I've definitely noticed the wash out with the basket weave patterns but it isn't so bad when I've used the textured pattern. It's something I'm continuing to play with to see if I can find a way around it.

Nice work, but Iwould dyed the loop or srirching orange- brown(just my opinion)

Thank you! I've had issues with dye on the loop and inside of the sheath transferring to the knife in the past so I try to avoid any kind of dye in there if I can :(. I hoping to someday be able to line my sheaths as Paul Long does but since I am only set up to hand stitch everything I'm not quite ready to make that leap yet.

I agree that the brown stitching would have been a nice accent but the customer wanted everything black . To each their own.

If you are going to dye the interior and the exposed part of the belt loop then do it while everything is still in the flat state and then make sure it is really dried well. Then do your stamping and finish work. The Black stitching is the obvious choice , particularly on that sheath......at least that's the way I would do it;)

Nice looking....I like the way you incorporated the handle material into the sheath.

Thank you! Moving forward I'll be trying to do this with all of my sheaths. It adds a nice touch and helps keep my scrap bin empty! :D
