I was asked to do the honour of making a sheath for Tad Lynch's Best New Maker award winning knife from Blade 2010.
Well of course I keep saying it that Paul's work is the nicest out there and so I can't help but follow much of his style. Here's what I came up with.
The pattern in the loop and the panel is semi Persian themed stamping and the outer border is my first custom stamp I made from butchering a Tandy stamp that I never use.
I consulted Paul's video again for this and every time I watch it I can't believe how much info there is in these videos. That and how precisely and accurately Paul works. I have to sort out my cutting methods as I think I made enough pieces for 2-3 sheaths due to problems with my cutting tools.
The inlay is ostrich leg. These pics were taken shortly after finishing so after a day and a half, the colour levelled nicely.
Anyway, here's a couple pics.
