Latest Spyderco Introduction: Spyderfly

That is something else! Thanks for posting it.

That sure is a beautiful knife. Only one thing strikes me as something to change, and that is the recurve in the blade. (I dislike it strictly for the reason that it is unpleasant to sharpen on a flat ceramic stone.)

Even despite that, and despite the fact that I am not a proficient bali-song user, I can see myself getting one of these, just for the art of it.

Steel is VG-10. Length of the blade is about 4.24". Suggested retail price is planned for about $100. Availability? Hopefully by Christmas, but probably early 2004.

You may notice that those four files, which are all the same picture, have interesting file names ending in SVGA, XGA, SXGA, and UXGA. Those files are set up for use as Windows Wallpaper!

Those files are also huge, 2.3MBytes for the big one, because I don't use compression (well, not much) on wallpaper images. If I'm gonna stare at a picture filling my whole monitor all day, I want it to be the best that it can be and I'm willing to wait a few minutes when I download it order to get that.

So, there's a bonus gift for you, new Spyderco Spyderfly wallpaper.
 
Good price definately....but I just don't like the looks of it. Not a big bali-song guy but I dig some of the expensive BMs. Nice pictures though!
 
I like it! I might have to pick one of those up. I'm sure the blade would be easy to keep sharp with the Sharpmaker.
 
I like the "striptease" aspect of that- one little peek at a time.
I'm not a big Bali guy, but I'm most definately down for one of those. It's been awhile since I've cut myself... ;)
 
Oh, yeah, I can see that big leave-shaped blade biting down on a finger ... yikes! With all that forward weight ... :)

It does have a spidery look to the design ...

Come into my parlor, said the bali in a song,
if you've got them, flip them, cause the pivots sure look strong,
don't let the blade know you're afraid, it's just a miniature barong!

This is one of the reasons i like to be on this message board, you always have a good handle on what is comming out and when, When looking at the benchmade bali's i was wanting spyderco to come out with one, now that they are i have to get one. Only question is whre can i get some kydex for it? i know where to get kydex for others but this is going to be brand new, are they going to have some availible?
