Went in my nearest Walmart this morning and cruised through the sporting goods. Saw that there were still 5 Buck Tins left from Christmas and they were marked down to $17 each. Four were the 425/482 Boone and Crockett sets and one was the Special Edition 327/375 set. I told the clerk that I'd give $10 per tin and take all and that I knew they were from Christmas. He conferred with the manager and I walked out with 5 sets at $12 per set plus local sales tax. I should have started at $8 - I hate to leave money on the table like that.:D All are upopened blister packs. I noticed another mistake I made when I got back to my truck. I was wearing my Buck knives camo cap! :grumpy:

(I still have three unopened Al Buck 110's tins that I bought for $10 each after the Christmas that they were featured - plus one that has been opened but never used).

In boxing terms, I think that is referred to as "leading with your chin". ;)

Fantastic idea, btw. I know exactly where there are several in walmarts near me. Hmmmm...

LOL.

Great hat story.

Thanks for the comedy.

I can't type anymore as I'm off to WM........

I'm honestly curious. If WalMart is so awful and hateful in your opinion, why don't you just stay out of there???

Good question. I rarely go anymore. I use to really like it back when Sam Walton ran it and I spent a lot there. Occasionally, I find something made in the USA like the Buck 143 knives there and will buy it. Same with Sears. I use too like Sears, but its getting harder to find Craftsman USA tools. More and more China Craftsman hand tools. I still find tons of USA hand tools and knives, but I shop online for most of them.

I was forced to stop at a Walmart at 10:00 at night. The wife wanted to stop and get some whatevers, so I told her I 'd be in the sporting goods Dept. The Walmart by me doesn't ever have any thing good but I keep trying. So, I looked into the knife case and there were your average Walmart Buck knives. Right in the middle I see the 143 pack lite. They were on sale and I wanted to get the bigger ones. The knives were selling for 17.98 ea. I grabbed 2 and went to the check out. They over charged me by a few dollars each so I said something. I had to go to the return line and wait for 10 min. The guy apologized and sold them to me for $15.00 ea. I should have got three. I got them home and they were assume. Razor sharp right out of the package.

+1
