  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I'm very new to the world of knife making. Picked up the bug earlier this past winter and decided to give it a go. I picked up a 2x42 Craftsman grinder and a bunch of files to start out with, but so far I've only used the files and a jig I made after seeing Aaron Gough's YouTube video. This is my second attempt at putting a bevel on with the jig, and this is my best so far. This isn't my pattern, just one I found on the internet so all credit for the design goes to the original owner. I wanted to start out with some existing designs before I started tinkering. I still have a lot of work to do to get it to the point of HT, but I'm pretty proud of how it's looking so far. I also want to note that after attempting to make and rough out a pattern using only a hacksaw and files I had the batch this blank comes from cut out by a water jet shop next door to my office. :D

Any and all comments or critiques are very welcome. I'm here to learn!

Thanks! I still need to work on the bevel. I've got it pretty close, but the tip area needs to be brought back about an 1/8" to match the rest of the bevel. I did this bevel at 20* inclusive and I plan on a micro bevel for the sharpened edge.
