Greetings all;

Is anyone familiar with Tom Meadows system of Latigo y Daga? From what little I have seen/read, it sounds like a facinating art. I've looked on the web and found very little info. I asked Guro Ron Balicki about Tommy the Whip and he said that the "Filipino Fighting Whip" series was planned for release, but that it wasn't done yet. While I'm at it, might as well ask: any Latigo y Daga practitioners near Chicago? And who else uses the whip in their FMA. I know the Sayoc's, Guro Ron and Professor Amante P. Marinas all use the work, and of course Anthony De Longis. Anyone else out there make extensive use of the whip?

thanks in advance

J-MAN

I think James Keating knows how to use a whip, I remember an article on the combative use of the whip in old Full Contact magazine. Maybe he even has a video out that covers the whip.

J-Man, Comtech does have a tape called "The Combative Whip". It is one of the old "Specificity" Series. They don't advertise that series anymore but if you call Comtech directly and speak to Rob Langford, they probably still have some copies left. If not they might be willing to break out the old master-tape and run off a new copy. The price is about $30.00 (but don't hold me to that!). It's a well put together tape.

Guro Raffi Pambuan uses the whip a great deal and GM Neal Hummerstone who does Pambuan & Sayoc Kali teaches the whip in his classes for FMA and his regular martial arts classes..
He translates into other flexible weapons..
Raffi does a great set of whips from horse whips to full bull whips..very impressive..
JAK does for sure!...
