So I found an ebay listing for a fixed blade Kershaw Skyline. This has to be the shadiest, dodgiest listing I have ever seen. I don't think I've ever seen one this far out.
1. The item is listed as "New". Then in the description, the seller says, "...only been handled once a year..."
2. The seller does not specify the blade steel. He just says, "Quality steel (not that cheap 440 stuff here)..." In my Google search, I found two versions: 14C28, and 1084. More about this later.
3. The seller says, "I have a 100% positive rating..." So I looked at his feedback score, and it was 98.7%.
4. The seller describes the knife as "VERY RARE," and says, "(I have not seen another one of these EVER)." So I did a Google search, and immediately found the item in stock on Cabelas and Amazon.
5. The current high bid for the item is $45.00. Cabelas and Amazon are both asking $44.99, for the 1084 version. Of course, this might be the 14C28 version, which is in stock at Amazon for $35.16.
6. The worst part: Someone has actually placed a bid on this thing. Maybe it was a the seller's next door neighbor. Wink wink, Nudge nudge.
Never mind "buyer beware;" How about, "Buyer be entertained by extreme cheesiness."
