Sorry for all the new questions, and this may not be he right forum, but you guys should know......

Any laws I need to worry about? Like "registering" with the police? Gee, guys, this is a hobby, an art, a craft, right?

However, after 911, and Kalifornia being what it is, you never know.....

I'm one to keep a low profile, and all, but there may be some ATF stuff I should know about. I know it's illegal here for bali's, and auto's......

Even if you're paranoid, someone "could" be out to get you.

Considering Homeland Security can now pick you up for what are essentially thought crimes, you're right to ask. Personally, I don't know of any law requiring registration like you're a sex offender, but then again, I don't know if they have to register out there; they do here in Texas. Anyway, back to the point. I'd say so long as you keep from making, or perhaps just selling, whatever is considered illegal, you shouldn't step on anyone's toes.

I have never heard of any licensing requirements for making knives. As long as you are making knives that aren't illegal you should be fine.

Now if you make a full blown business out of it, I'm sure they could make a little more trouble for you. Possibly requiring you to get insurance against injury claims etc. but I've never herd of anyone having any trouble. If your just doing it for fun I'm sure you won't have a problem at all.

We have a stock removal maker here who was hassled at a flea market for selling double edge knives. He no longer does so. It is a cause celeb. now due to dealers with fanasy knives selling to children. I have never had any kind of trouble. I'm in NJ.
