Well, I got a bug up my arse to give this a go after seeing some YT vids and way too much involved for me after a couple beers to try the electrical method (not the right equipment at the moment either).
I was lazy and did not disassemble. In the end I needed to disassemble to clean the burnt lube. I could feel the metal creaking as it heated - holding by the tip of the blade and using a propane torch. I want to think that the screws came out easier due to the heating but may have screwed up the heat treat on the blade, maybe not. I wonder if having everything assembled while doing it helped prevent warpage. My neighbor across the street was probably asking what the hell I was doing but I waved him off telling him I couldn't hear him over the torch sound - doing this all at around dusk in the driveway. Redneck roots!
I thought I was screwed when the blade went off center. Took it all apart which I hate doing because I have meathooks which are not suited to fine work with the small parts. Never took apart a Military though I imagine this Ti version is easier than a regular. I have taken down PM2s which took hours to do the first few times. In the end I got it more centered that when I received 2nd or 3rd hand. Take a gander!
