I have told myself I wouldn't start another thread until I started taking better images to post. I have also told myself I would exercise and lose weight...
Oh well, I figured you would want to know about Jerry's new combo. I attended the A.G. Russell Knife Event this past weekend and I was very excited to get the opportunity to meet Jerry Halfrich (especially since Blade didn't work out for me this year). Plus, I was hoping to get to his table in time to try and get my name on one of his folders. Long story, short, Jerry had all five folders sold by showtime, and I only saw fixed blades for sale. We had a great discussion about his folders, his steel, and what he had coming up for future folders. I was familiar with his Rounder, and handled a sold stag lockback version that was a superb knife. Then, he pulled out of his back pocket the prototype of one we should be seeing soon, his LB-5 with a modified spearpoint blade. This is the blade-style for his Rounder, and he has been using this prototype as an EDC and liking it a lot.
After the discussion, I ask what the chances were that he might sell me his prototype. The answer was yes, the photo is below, and the moral of the story is, if your knives are a total success as a maker, you might want to stick a user or two in your pockets before each show. You never know when a crazy knife collector might come by and try to buy it right out from under you...literally.
