I found a thread asking this question from back in 2009 but it never really got answered. Instead of reviving a 15 year old thread, I started a new one. . . apologies in advance if that's a faux pas. Anyway, the pic shows 4 of my LB7's. Top one is a relatively early serial number 4-pin (7289320). 2nd one is a relatively late serial numbered 4-pin (G5060). 3rd is a serialized 3-pin (AW25797). Bottom is an unserialized 3-pin (Schrade+ USA). I also have an unserialized 3-pin with the pivot pin in the original location (not in the family photo). My question is about the change in lockbar pivot location. Any ideas when and/or why?
AW25797 is also the earliest LB7 I have with the Uncle Henry script in the tang stamp. E75034 is an earlier 4-pin without the Uncle Henry script. I read somewhere that they added the script at the same time they stopped serializing but AW25797 seems to refute that. Any info on when they started adding the Uncle Henry script to the tang stamp?
My entire LB7 stable:
47917 4-pin, no script
580985 4-pin, no script
728932 4-pin, no script
E75034, 4-pin, no script
G5060 4-pin, no script
AW25797 3-pin, script
3-pin, no serial, script
