I have an old LB7 that I bought in the early '70's. It was carried daily for about 30 years and now needs some TLC. The only thing wrong is the blade is not solid when open. It has some side to side wobble, but also some up and down wobble which really concerns me. I quit carrying it because I don't trust the lockup now. Is there a remedy for my knife?

Sounds like you plumb wore it out. It would seem that the metal of the back of the knife blade has worn down enough to cause the loosness. Now that is what is most likely it could also be a problem in the back spring wear or separation. Or you could get lucky and could just whack ( pean) the rivet and it might just come right back.

You might want to consider retiring it and getting a new one. Good Luck LT
