LB7 vs. 110

I favored the old Schrades.... not sure which is better but I had a couple of the LB7s back in the 80's. They served me very well. If I remember they were a few dollars cheaper which is why I tried them.

I'd have to go with the 110. Really like the Schrades, but the Buck has done better for me.

Don't know why the Case knives in this class are so often ignore, pricing is pretty much in line with Buck 110 on the Hammer Head and Mako if you shop around. The also make the Sharktooth which is my favorite simply because I prefer the rounded contours over the slab side of the others. Here is my latest, was a deal I picked up for 25 bucks used...

I like all the big old American lockbacks. But by far the best and strongest inside out is the Buck.Closer tolerances, blade bushing, cleaner grind lines are a few of the reasons. The old Rigid USA from the 80's were very good. They even had a bushing for the rocker pin. They sell on fleabay for around 200 now.The Case Shark tooth is the best of the 3 in that series, but not as good as a plain ole 110 IMO.I like the LB-7 and the LB-5,but they often have blade wobble and little to no closing spring.I sure wish Schrade usa could have hung on though.
