I want an LCC D/A for my collection and this came up in my search. I wasn't counting on a Damascus model, but why? Or why not? Should I consider buying this one? If so, what should be the limit to pay?
Keep in mind if something on it breaks, it will cost you big bucks to get it fixed. I also would not link live ebay auctions as it is against the rules here.
A regular D/A LCC can cost you $500 these days. A custom damascus one could fetch over a grand. I wouldn't be surprised if this auction did. If it's not pulled first...
Thanks Planterz, I fully expect and am prepared to pay $500.00 for D/A. But I missed the last one on the bay and my reserved max bid was only bested by $5.00 as I was unable to be present to bid at the end. It went for $482.00. Then this Damascus one shows up. I'd rather have a stoned washed blade anyway. I just need the 3 bolster release Microtechs to fill a niche in my auto collection.
Typing on a smartphone while riding shotgun in a moving vehicle on the highway is not the more reliable way...
I've read experiences where people ask to have their knives looked at for warranty repair and Microtech tells them to take a flying leap unless they are federal officers, active military, etc. Most companies that sell autos will not repair them either unless you have the paperwork to abck up legally owning one, but their delivery method of communication left a lot to be desired.
