Simple question probably numerous responses.

What is the best way to store the LCC D/A for long term storage? Will the spring wear out over time, or is this a moot point. Open or closed for storage?

Thanks

I recall a similar question on the BM forum a couple of years ago. You might want to check the archives there. www.benchmade.com
As I recall, they said don't worry about the coil spring. If it ever fails,it's guaranteed for life. Good spring steel will hold it's "memory" almost indefinitely. The springs in gun semi-auto clips that are kept loaded all the time don't seem to suffer.

I store all my auto's in the open position, the kick spring auto's especially. The coil springs I rotate around, but most of the time I keep them open also.

This is my own preference, and one that I feel good about. I also have a thirteen round clips, and they say not to keep it full when in storage, so I keep them half full.

You might get other veiws on this so good luck!

Uh, the LCC D/A has a leaf or flat spring. I think the general consensus is that it is fine to store it either way. Spring technology has come a long way apparently. Check out www.microholics.com or over at knifeforums in their Microtech gallery for a better answer. Do a search, as I have seen this topic brought up on one of those forums.

Take care,
Chris
