Hi Everybody,

Made something a bit different the other day.

What do you all think ?

I want one.

But first I want an LCP. :p

Nice job, David.

In theory it's cool, but I wouldn't wear it for the same reason I wouldn't carry in a non vertical shoulder rig, a sweeping draw and you'll always have a loaded weapon pointed at someone if they're standing next to you, in a holster or not.

I knew a guy who had a similar rig with a small S&W airweight, but it almost pointed at his freakin' neck, always made me cringe.

I feel you on most of this.

I would not make neck holsters for a long time.

I have had request for the neck holsters for those little revolvers for years.
Because Newt Livesay made bunches of them but they had the muzzle pointing at your face  I did not like that & still do not. I still will not make those kind & never will.

I have made a neck holster where it points the gun down & it works great for the little revolvers but not so much for these.

I think, as with everything else if you practice proper gun handling these are perfectly safe.

Just another option in my line of holsters.

Some will love them some not so much. :)

I also make paddles IWB & pocket holsters for lots of guns.

Yeah, they're not for everyone. My preferred method of carrying a smaller gun is a pocket holster.

BTW, what kind of retention do you use on your pocket holsters so that you don't pull the whole holster out with the gun? Or is it more of a push with your thumb kind of deal? I had a pocket holster with rough stingray I believe that would cling to the inside of your pocket.

I fit them pretty loose so that they stay in the pocket, you would have to feel it I think. The back part of the holster also acts like a hook.

Maybe a pocket holster with a neck mag pouch ? :D

Cool, next smaller gun I buy I may have to see if you have what i'm looking for. I do like the neck mag holder though.

On a side note, I've noticed you carry hollow points for your LCP. Everything that I have read states the FMJ is a better round for the .380 due to the fact that there is not enough velocity coming out of the barrel. What I have read is that the FMJ will both have better penetration and due more damage than HP.

I am far from a ballistics expert and didn't even sleep at Holiday Inn last night, but thought I would throw that out there.

Jarhead, I come from the same train of thought regarding that. But I don't carry anything smaller than 9mm.

When I carried my PPK/s I usually had either Mag Safes, Glazers and or Hydra Shocks in it. ;)

Hornaday's new critical defense ammo is designed to open at low velocities - it was built around the idea of the current trend towards compact pistols.
OTOH, I'm with 230 grains on this - 9mm is the smallest caliber I carry. (my preference is a 230 grain JHP)

i think those are pretty slick!!

im not a fan of neck carry for knives, but honestly had never considered it for a gun.

i would like to see a slight downward cant to assist with the draw. im picturing wearing it under a sweatshirt, and accessing a horizontally positioned item may be less problematic with a 15-20 degree cant.

It's definitely different! You can carry those little .380's almost anywhere. I usually go IWB unless I have to wear a tucked in shirt, then it goes in my pocket. How does it feel being so much heavier than your common neck knife?

You've really been beating out those LCP holsters ;) Nice work.

I need a neck holster for my G29.

i think that i am liking that dave, i know that is not a .22, but that will be my next purchase, that would work good on the inside of a .511 shirt and it would be very slimline as well...
phoenix makes a very nice .22 lr that would fit in one of those quite well and they fit the budget...
