I'm not kidding here...I haven't pulled down my SFNO yet but it's going to be close fellas, real close.

So my thoughts on what Lil Foo brought up...sure enough the two I have are completely different. I'm not talking about night and day different but the differences are more than just subtle. The color is different, that is the obvious one, but the pattern is very different also. The sides of the Tiger Hide have always had a grain appearance to them and my low number ASH has it but the high numbered ASH does not. The new pattern on the high number ASH almost reminds me of the pattern of the Cultellus. I have to admit (for a guy who doesn't like change), I'm really liking this "new" Tiger Hide. It's lighter, but the patterns are just freaking cool. If you saw them seperate you would ID both handles as Tiger Hide, so that has been maintained. I'm wondering if the low numbered LEs (single and double digits) have what we are used to seeing with Tiger Hide and the higher numbers have this new style. Right now it's a toss up which one I like better. I got a feeling this isn't going to be the last long post on these blades. They're going to be the new Holy Grail Busse...mark my words!

LINEN...GREEN LINEN!!!!:eek:

Hell it just hit me....this micarta reminds me of green linen. The lines, the grain, the pattern....even the feel to some extent. Tiger and Snake micarta have always been made from canvas...I'm wondering if Jerry is making it out of linen now.:cool:

Busse knives are soooooo freaking cool, damn...I feel like a kid at Christmas:D

Is the bottom one(bigger one), the one Busse is currently selling from their company store? If so I going to look to sell my Randall #1 to get one of those or a BM varient.
 
Jerry had said that the HOG Special ASH-1's were going to be Tiger linen, maybe they're transitioning over on the LE's :cool:.





I love linen micarta !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes...they are both LE ASH1 and can be bought at www.bussecombat.com. Go now...they are coming down soon.

As JJ said...Tiger on all LEs, but I'm wondering if Jerry is making the Tiger out of linen now rather than canvas.

Jerry did post somewhere the the LEs would be linen tigerhide.
I think the 2 different color variations are from 2 different batches.

What I also noticed was that some of the handles are smoothed over
and a little more rounded at the edges of the pattern cuts.

The first 2 have the more smoothed over on the micarta, and the
last 2 have a pretty defined edge at the pattern cut on the micarta.

The different color micarta also is on both high and low numbers for the ones I have...

I like the tiger with the greenish tint better... just looks cool to me! :thumbup:

I have been trying to decide which ASH1 combo to order for a long time. Satin is my first choice for blade finish, but I didn't really like the pics of the tiger handles and was leaning heavily towards sage w/ black canvas mags.

The cheap bastard in me really curses you guys and this thread...those pics of the greenish tigers just clinched it for me :grumpy:
