Stefan,

Another well done review. The knife is outstanding, and those buffalo horn scales compliment the detailed file work nicely. Enjoy!

Fantastic Review, After watching your Video I placed an order for one. Hopefully it will arrive in a couple of weeks. I ordered the 12cm in Buffalo Horn, with the Laps Lazuli inlay, similar to the one you purchased. I upgraded the steel to RWL-34 (It was only 24 Euro more). Didn't go for the sheath though, this one will be daily user, right in my pocket. I hope the bone will hold up well for long term use.

I really prefer this design to the classic Lagiole, I sold my Lagioles a while back, I had purchased them because of the much heralded History and classic design, but their design for some reason, I never identified with, so I sold them all. This knife on the other hand really appeals to me.

Very Excited for it

Spydiefan is my YouTube name BTW

Very beautiful knife indeed, and an exciting new pattern for me.

I have 3 Laguioles from Fontenille-Pataud and I'm deeply impressed by their workmanship and artisan skill, these are knives that are worth every penny. The quality is undeniable. They offer a big range of handles and other aspects so you can really specify the knife you want. Delivery/waiting time was only a couple of weeks-although I do live in the EU and it likely depends on your specifications and their stock etc. The French also turn out really high quality leather work, their pouches are very decent to own.

Many thanks for another of your craftsman's videos, you must do it for a living as they are so well assembled and have very interesting background details. Nice change from much of the mumbled, slurred inarticulate things you can encounter! I will save a little and treat myself, although I'll opt for the smaller 10cm model. Can you choose between polished or matte blade&metalwork? The handle looks practical and comfortable, rather like and old-world Flintlock pistol. The pattern is reminiscent of the American Saddlehorn style of knife. I'm sure people in the Trad Forum would be delighted to see a few pix of this magnificent knife, and yes, it needs using!

Regards, Will

Stefan,

Thank you so much for the recommendation about the Capuchadou, I purchased a very Similar Model, I just Upgraded The Steel to RWL-34, and got Buffalo Horn Bark.

The knife is allot bigger than I thought it was, but that is not as big of deal considering how comfortable it is in use, and how beautiful it is. I would say this is one of the most comfortable folding knives to use for food prep that I own.

Just some pics of mine.

Never seen a better knife review. Thanks. I'll be ordering one of these.

Another outstanding review.
Beautiful knife. I imagine it would be the jewel of most collections, just as it is the jewel of yours.

A lovely knife from one of my favorite producers.
When it comes to nice finish, Fontenille-Pataud is up there with the best.

Hi Man, iv fallen in love with this knife. How is it as a user? Waiting for payday so I can place my order. Any blade play at all? And do you know if the do it in carbon? As it doesn't mention a carbon blade on their site but pretty much all FPs can be done in Carbon if you ask.

Cheers

Kit

Hi Kit,

so far so good, I am prety light on it, mainly for food prep and opening packages. So issues as of yet, I would highly recommend it.

I don't really know about Carbon Steel on this variant, you would have to call up FP to find out.
