Who is watching the 24 hours of Le mans? I'm loving it. In fact, I did not go out tonight so i could watch the coverage.

The Audi R8's just amaze me. It just might be one of, if not the, best race cars ever built. They rank with the GT40's, Porsche 917's, and Porsche GT1's. The Audi's aren't even "factory" backed and they are just dominating.

Another nice face to see is the Aston Martins racing with the Corvettes.

So who else is tuning into speed and watching what is, without a dobut, the best auto race in the wold?

I’ve been watching it… a least for a few hours here and there. It’s a pretty amazing event! :)

I’m a new fan and it’s kind of hard for me to keep up with everything that’s going on. The Aston Martin versus Corvette battle is obviously awesome though!

Le Mans is always a fine event. At present, I notice that Porsche holds 1-2-3 in GT2.

Audi always a big name in the unlimited class.

I've mostly given up on racing simulations (I suck...) but I spent many fun hours racing the old, long course in Grand Prix Legends and the current circuit in the GT mods for EA's F1 series.
There are several leagues which hold annual simulations of the event, changing from day to night representations of the circuit.

If you like the race, the Steve McQueen movie, Le Mans is an absolute "must buy". It is available on DVD and it is worth every penny. So is the McQueen biography built around the making of the film, A French Kiss With Death, by Michael Keyser & Jonathan Williams. Amazon gets $42.75 for it, but it is well worth it, especially the pictures from the making of the movie.

For you young kids, Steve McQueen was the ultimate Mr. Cool for those of us who grew up in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His roles in The Great Escape, Bullitt, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Magnificent Seven, and The Sand Pebbles, not to speak of his TV role in "Wanted: Dead or Alive" are iconic as the detached Mr. Cool.

In high school i got on the amazon.com wait list waiting for le mans to come out on DVD. THe day I got the e-mail that it was on DVD, I ordered it. I love it...there are so few words, and the porsche 917 is truly the star of the movie. Ti deserves an oscar for its performance.
