Le Scarabée - some kind of strange beetle with nickel damascus guard :)

Hi everyone

After some time , which i needed to rebuild my workshop, im back in work and i just finished this knife The original idea is from the guy called Pat Silicat from France. He made some computer drawings, we discussed about the design a lot, i putted some of my ideas in, we change some things, and here it is .) Is suppose to be a stylized beetle. The last picture shows the final design. So what do you think ?? I hope you will like it and have a nice day PM

Le Scarabée


Blade - 5 layered "sanmai" - 1,2842 (O2) steel + pure nickel
Guard and pommel - Damascus steel 1,2842 (o2) + pure nickel , stainless steel rivet
Handle- Ebony + Damascus rivets 1,2842+pure nickel
Average length - 29 cm (approx- 11,5 inches) , blade - 13,5 cm (approx-5,3 inches).
Blade width at widest point 45 mm , blade thickness 5 mm.

I don't necessarily see a beetle when looking at it. I can see some design elements that are beetle-like. What I do see is a beautiful package, well conceived and well executed. The knife's bold patterns and unique styling are very appealing while the pin placement and domed treatment add interesting details. The sheath is also very well done and compliments the knife perfectly. I'm a big fan of sheaths designed in conjunction with the knife. Thanks for sharing.
