Anybody have any experience with the Le Theirs knives made by Chambriard?
If possible, I need a quality comparison with Forge de Laguiole.

I recently bought the Le Thiers par Chambriard from a guy on ebay, and it is top-quality. Although it is not a lockback knife, the backspring is very stout. More so than any other non-locking knife I've ever handled.

Mine is the stag handled 12cm blade, and it is sweet! I say it is definitely worth the $70-$80 you would have to spend, and it comes with a fancy leather slip sheat, comparable to those that come with the Sebenzas.

I just love the lines, and the natural handle materials. Old world design, with high tech appeal.

Daniel,
Does the blade sit centered in the handle? Is there any noticable side-side blade play?

Solid lockup, and centered blade. These knives are tight. The blades are a bit thinner than most of the tactical knives out there, but that doesn't mean they aren't tough. Mine makes an excellent paring knife, and takes a great edge. It came with a convex edge grind, with almost no secondary bevel. The blade profile is quite a bit like the Opinels, but not as thin at the edge and not as much belly. I've posted a pic in another thread, but can't double post it, so here's the original image.

I bought mine without ever having seen it in person, and was not disappointed in the least. I've never cared for most of the "Laguiole" style knives, but this one really tripped my trigger.
