U.S. Navy SEAL, Sayoc Kali and survival instructor Tracker Dan shows you how to stay alive when the unexpected happens and you are stranded from any means of modern shelter. Learn how to choose the proper location, avoid location specific dangers, and how to construct a universal woodland emergency shelter - The Leaf Den.

Shelter is arguably the most important life saving survival skill that can be learned. Knowledge of this skill will help you protect yourself and others from life threatening conditions such as the rain, cold, sun, heat, as well as biting and stinging insects.

Tracker Dan was raised in the northern wilderness where he began his life-long passion for learning self sufficient survival skills. A long time teacher at Tom Brown’s tracking school, he continues to appear as a guest instructor. While serving in the Teams, Tracker Dan was able to apply and test these skills in many different environments.

Running Time: 45 Minutes.

I don't think this is the right place to sell stuff. I could be wrong. Happened once before.

No prob - this isn't my DVD nor do I directly profit from it. It is a recommendation such as any recommendation on survival courses or brand of knife.
Tracker Dan just happens to train in the same system.

I've seen several threads here that recommend a knife, book or dvd - however to the mods - please switch or send me a PM to post in the appropriate forum.

As most here know - some blade enthusiasts are aware of how the knife is a tool for destruction. It is a means of survival in dire circumstances.
However, the knife can also be used to save one's life as a tool to create shelter or assist in making fire for food and to sustain body heat.
Unfortunately in lieu of recent tragic events in the news, we've witnessed people succumb to the harsh conditions that nature can often bring about to the unprepared.

Hmmm. As a Tracker Student, I guess I have to ask, is the "leaf den" the only skill taught? Seem a bit on the spendy side one compared with the Hoods Woods videos or Tom Elpels...

He has a segment covering the bow drill. This is a DVD for those who may not have any interest in tracking per se, but do carry a knife for other uses. It's a good intro created by someone who has used his survival skills in both friendly and hostile territory.
