Went to a junk yard this morning and asked for leaf springs.
He said he had a whole pile of them in back and wished I'd take em all.
I said i just need one for now but i'll be back.
My kingdom for a torch or a bandsaw.

Way to go! As for the bandsaw, see the couple of threads on them one the first 2 pages of this forum. Good discussions about cheapo models. Sounds like the one from Harbor Freight, or it's numerous clones, is the way to go. HF is selling it for around $170 right now, and on any order over $50 they cover the shipping, which is sweet for something as heavy as this bandsaw! Everyone says to factor in another $30 or so for a 14-18 TPI (teeth per inch) bi-metal blade (like from Lenox). There are links in those threads. Everyone says they last a couple years, at least, and to pick up some regular cheap carbon ones for cutting handle materials, too. Have fun!
