Leafsprings, Steel or Titanium?

I'm working on a project that calls for a thick leafspring, around an 1/8 of an inch.

I'm familar with the qualities of steel leafsprings, but how about titanium? Specificaly;

How long do they hold their spring compared to steel, and do they require relatively more or less force to flex?

Most importantly, does titanium require any specific treatment to be used as a spring?

All my experience with titanium is as a load bearing metal, not a spring, so any help would be appreciated.

Spring tempered steel would be my material of choice where long travel and repeated flex is required because of durability.

Short travel low flex applications as in a liner lock either can be used.

The basic benifits of Ti is low weight and corrosion resistance.

Try Texas knife amkers supply . They have 301 half hard for the purpose you are look at.

Have to go with the steel as Ti would have a tendency to snap on a piece of that size.
