Leak proof pens for air travel?

I'm looking for good quality moderately priced pens that are leak proof for a frequent air traveler. After loosing two pens on separate flights and the resulting costs and hassle cleaning up the mess, I'm looking to upgrade from the cheap generic pens I get at work.

I'm wondering what's available that doesn't cost as much as a Fisher Space Pen which is ~$12 for a military model.

I'd get a fisher space pen refill for ~5 dollars and a cheap pen that accepts it. I always have a zebra f701 with a fisher refill on me. Though it is around that 12 dollar limit. You could find a cheaper host for the refill. Hope this helps.

BiC works for me. Also a useful defensive tool in need.

The space pens I bought all had medium refills in OEM.

I swapped them all out with fine refills, as the mediums are blotchy and smeary.


So fine Fisher refills in a Parker Jotter.
