Never attempt cooking Lima beans in a pressure cooker...beans all over the ceiling. Underaged, I worry about you. :) Cavelady

Try it with eggs.

Heh heh. Done that. In the late 70's when microwaves were first starting to appear in every kitchen one of my buddies family got one before mine did. We had heard that eggs explode if microwaved and being young kids we thought we should test this out (learning IS a lifelong pursuit). We stuck a Grade A Large in the microwave oven and turned it on, our eyes gleaming with the destruction we were about to witness.

Well it ran for several seconds, and nothing happened. At first we were disappointed. Then my friend realized his mother would be home soon, and we may possibly be caught and get in trouble. Fearing the egg may be funky after being bathed in microwaves he decided to throw it away. I said, lets just crack it open and see what happened. The inside of the egg seemed totally unaffected, so we decided to cook it and eat it.

Well let me just say, eggs don't have to be in the shell to explode. That unbroken yolk exploded like a chicken foetus grenade and coated the entire inside of the microwave oven with a very thin layer of omelette. Well we started cleaning as fast as we could and got it somewhat back to normal before my buddy's parents came home. But his mom complained for several days that the microwave smelled funny whenever she used it. :D

Now I just need to go get some grapes.

I knew a guy who tried to cook an egg in the microwave and it blew up on him. Burned his eye like you wouldn't beleive! Took a long time to heal.

Heard about a demonstration somewhere where they had a camera mounted to a microwave and were blowing stuff up in it. They quartered grapes and put them in and they supposedly burst into flames :D

For an interesting spark show, find an old teacup with a silver or gold rim and put that in there. Hint: don't use your grandmother's priceless antiques.

Or you can cut strips of kitchen foil and put 'em in there. Very fun.

There is a technique in cooking eggs in the microwave. There are only a few seconds between being cooked and exploding. So you need to experiment.

I only got one to explode. One of three, the first two just split apart and sizzled. I think you have to find a fat one with good hard skin. ;)

Oh, cleaning was a bitch.
