This knife stuff is pretty cool. I find it interesting its great, but i have no one to learn from so wheres a kid learn about this stuff. IE what should i read to learn about sharpening and whats good knives and things of that sort. Any suggestions welcome thanks.

You've already taken a step in the right direction by coming here--if you can't find it here then I doubt it's worth looking for. There is a sharpening FAQ at the top of the page if you want to learn some basics and there's never a shortage of sharpening threads around here anyway. Unfortunately the search function has been temporarily(?) disabled for basic members, but if you peruse the different forums here I'm sure you'll have an enormous amount of information to digest. As ZENGHOST said, you've come to the right place. I registered here a little over 3 years ago when I was 15, and I've learned more than I ever thought possible at that time. Some of the forums I've found most helpful have been the General and the Knife Reviews and Testing forums. I bought some of my favorite knives after reading all of the great reviews they got in the Reviews forum. Some other sources of information are Knifeforums.com and the various knife magazines. I get Blade, Tactical Knives and Knives Illustrated whenever I can find them. Blade's website is http://www.collect.com/interest/periodical.asp?Pub=BL, Tactical Knives is www.tacticalknives.com, and Knives Illustrated is http://www.knivesillustrated.com/. I've heard some negative comments about these publications, but I've gotten a lot of information from them I didn't find on the web. Best of luck in your search, and once again welcome to the forums.
